T4, Week 8

Congratulations once again to our student team for taking the award for Outstanding Vocals at the 2023 Junior Theatre Festival Australia.

Our students competed against 23 other finalist groups from Australia and New Zealand, judged by a panel of international artists from Broadway and London’s West End!

Musical Parent Helpers Required!

Are you keen to assist in costuming or props creation? Need a holiday project? There are many items to make, but maybe you love playing with expanding foam or creating coral from pool noodles…. Or creating t-shirt prints with a Cricut… or making a ‘treasure chest’ for our fish tank… Or maybe a string of bubbles… We’d love to hear from you. Please email your area of interest (props or costumes) to lyndalblatch@acc.edu.au and one of the musical team members will be in touch in the coming weeks.

We plan to have a parent working bee early in Term 1 to create some costume and set items en masse e.g. seagull hats, coral reefs, etc. If this is something you would love (or tolerate!) being involved in, let us know so we can keep you posted.

Primary Choir and Dance Group Nursing Home Visit

“It was like angels singing”.

“That was the best thing that’s ever happened here.”

“I hope they’ll come again next year.”

These were just some of the comments from excited residents and staff after our students presented a fabulous 35 minute Christmas concert to some elderly residents in our wider community. They visited Opal Gardens Raymond Terrace, Stroud Lodge & Peter Sinclair RSL LifeCare. After our concert, students were able to meet and greet residents and deliver student handmade Christmas cards to the residents. Here are some photos of the day and more in our 2023 Nursing Home Visit Google Photo Album.

The whole community is welcome to attend the Christmas Carnival (markets, food trucks, rides and performances) behind Medowie Social.
