Championing Neurodiversity with Dr Justin Coulson
Life for a neurodivergent child is a journey of highs and lows, marked by the joy of mastering new skills and the challenges of setbacks. As their parent or teacher, your support is crucial.
We have another wonderful opportunity for families to hear from Dr Justin Coulson in a live online webinar. Dr Justin Coulson will address neurodiversity in this webinar titled “Championing Neurodiversity: Helping Children Thrive in a Neurotypical World”. The event will take place on Monday 19th August at 7pm, and for interested families, MCS will secure your place to attend.

Staffing Changes at MCS
This week I would like to announce that after many years with us Mr Peter and Mrs Kim Fedder have announced their retirement from education, concluding at the end of Term 3, 2024. Mr and Mrs Fedder have invested many years with us, have and continue to be keepers of our culture as they prayerfully committed their lives to serving the Lord at MCS. We will miss them greatly and we are thankful for all they have gifted to students, families and our staff community. We are certainly better for having them in our school.
Sports Assembly
This Friday 16th August at 10:10am in The Lighthouse we will be running a special Sports Assembly to recognise our Age Group Champions and Runners-Up from each of our School Sport Carnivals (Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics) that were run during Terms 1 and 2. All families are invited to attend.
As this is a significant event on our school calendar, please remember that to be allowed on stage to receive their awards, all students must be wearing the correct school uniform (if this is normally a students sports uniform day this is acceptable).
Father's Day Stall
We will be running our Father’s Day Stall on Thursday 29th August from 10:30am in The Lighthouse Foyer with gifts costing $3 or $5. Primary students are required to pay in cash and will attend with their class. Secondary students are able to pay with cash or card during 1st and 2nd break.
We are also seeking parent volunteers to be able to assist with students purchasing gifts at the stall. If you are able to help on the day please email LauraGill@acc.edu.au. To be able to volunteer in this capacity a current Working with Children Check is required.
Father’s Day Breakfast
All families are invited to recognise and celebrate our wonderful fathers with breakfast on Friday 30th August from 7:30am - 8:30am.
Flexischools - Keen Bean Canteen

The Keen Bean Canteen has opened their doors for our students to order their lunches on Wednesdays and Fridays in Term 3. Order through Flexischools to avoid disappointment. If you haven't already, sign up, via their website or download the app to create your account. The Flexischools Order Information Toolkit can be found in the document below.
Census
This week MCS submitted data required for school census collection. We celebrate wonderful growth in our school community over the last year! Further details around census data collection can be found in the Census Privacy Collection Notice issued by the Australian Government - Department of Education.
