Innovation Centre Opening Highlights
How wonderful it was to celebrate the opening of our new Innovation Centre last term. We had a beautiful day here at MCS as we welcomed our students and families into the new space hosting our Lego Masters House challenge. Congratulations to the RAMS for winning this one!

2024 School Fees
We were delighted to announce at the end of last term that our school tuition fees for Kindergarten to Year 12 are to remain the same in 2024 as they have been in 2023. Prep, camp and bus charges are at cost (or below) and any increase represents the direct increase in cost. Our 2024 fees are now available for you to peruse on our school website.
Previously some families have had a condition written into their enrolment contracts whereby a term’s notice was to be given on withdrawal of a student. Moving forward all MCS families will only be required to provide six (6) term weeks notice of departure to avoid further fees being charged.
Prompt payment of fees benefits all our students and we continue to be appreciative of your faithfulness to this commitment. All family accounts should be finalised by December 6th, 2023.
Car Park Safety

Please be reminded that the safety of our students and community is paramount in the carpark of a morning and afternoon. We thank you for your continued support in keeping others safe and would like to remind you that we now have a staff member who has been engaged to assist with the safe traffic flow in the car park. We ask that drop-off and collection of children in the morning (8am-9am) and afternoon (3pm-3:30pm) is solely from the Overflow Church Car Park. Please do not use the school site (where buses move) or staff car parking spaces during these times.
Thank you for your assistance with the following car park protocols:
10 km/h speed in car park.
'Kiss and Drop' of children is to be parallel park outside the Overflow Church. No parking along the full length of the southern edge of the carpark for ‘Kiss & Drop’ between 8-9am each morning.
Children and parents to cross into the carpark at the designated crossing.
Listen to and follow the directions of the Staff on Duty at all times.
No parking in the designated parks for Medowie Medical Centre.

Uniform Orders - No Hat, No Play
Wearing a hat when involved in outdoor activities is, and has always been, an important element to protecting ourselves from the damaging ultraviolet light that causes sunburn and irreversible damage to our skin. While a range of ‘sun safe’ practices are part of our policy at MCS, it is becoming increasingly common for some of our students to have misplaced their hat during the cooler months of the year.
As the temperatures increase we will again be focussing on, and expecting, each and every student to have a hat available when at school, and to wear it, whether that be during breaks or during PDHPE and Sport.
Can we ask that our families help their child by ensuring they have a hat for school, and if they do not, to communicate this with their child’s Care Group / Homeroom / Classroom Teacher, and to purchase one online.
Uniforms can be ordered online, which can be accessed via the school website under the ‘Parent Hub’ and the ‘Uniform Shop’ at the bottom of the page. Here is the link for your convenience:
Please see the MCS Uniform Policy for full details. An excerpt in relation is found below:
Policy statement
All students at Medowie Christian School will wear their uniform correctly with pride every day.
Procedures
The school expects that school hats are worn at breaks and outside classes for active play throughout the year.
Summer uniform is to be worn only during Terms 1 and 4. Winter uniform is to be worn during Terms 2 and 3 or for special events as requested by the school. (Any alterations to the this will come from the School Executive)
A note from a parent/carer is always required if a student is not in correct uniform (to cover a short period only). The explanation must also be of a reasonable nature. Ongoing breaches of the school’s uniform policy will result in disciplinary action and follow up with families.
Uniform Shop - all parts of the school uniform can only be purchased from the school’s uniform shop (other than shoes).
Women’s / Girls Football
Medowie Football Club are hosting a Women’s & Girl’s come and try day on Sunday November 26th from 9am – 12pm to encourage more female participation within the local community. With the recent hype from the Women’s World Cup, the Medowie Football Club are hoping to attract more female participation to the sport and have an opportunity to show them what soccer is all about!
