Sporting Achievement Assembly - Age Champion

This week, students, staff and families gathered together to celebrate the achievements of our children across our three major carnivals: Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics. Results have been carefully recorded and calculated throughout the year to determine who our Age Champions are, from our eight year-olds through to our eighteen year-old boys and girls. This was a wonderful time of reflection, anticipation and celebration of these opportunities, and also a chance for the rest of our community to acknowledge the physical gifts and talents our God has bestowed upon these children as athletes.

While our Age Champions were acknowledged and celebrated, we would like to thank every competitor that ‘turned up’ to these events, entered into races when their legs were screaming ‘no more’, swam another lap when they thought they had nothing left, and pounded their feet around a damp cross country track this year. Without you and your efforts, none of our athletes would have had the atmosphere of competition to push our students towards their personal best and achieve what they have achieved. Thank you!

HRIS Secondary Athletics Achievements Galore!

It has been an exciting start to the new semester with a host of sporting events taking place for many of our students. Our Secondary HRIS Athletics Team went to Glendale last Thursday to compete against several private and independent schools from across our region. While Medowie Christian School celebrates all of our athletes, I am delighted to report that our students excelled in this space with twenty-two podium finishes across track and field, which is a marvellous result at such a competitive level.

Just to mention our first places at this time, Skye came first in Under 13’s Shot Put. Chelsea (Under 14’s), Lewis (Under 15’s) and Lilly (Under 18’s) came first in Javelin. Divan came first in Under 18’s Discuss. Steven came first in Under 14’s 400m. We had a first (Tyler) and a second place (Tristan) from our Under 16’s Boys for High Jump and Monica finished the whole event in first position across track and field in our multi-class category, which is an astounding achievement!

Thank you to all of our students that attended this event. Our community is extremely proud of you and your achievements.

Please enjoy a few photos from the day:

  • Monica winning her 400m track event

  • Tyler winning the Under 16’s high jump event
