AICES & CIS Cross Country

Recently we had two students compete at AICES and CIS Cross Country.

Noah from Year 7 competed in the U12 boys at AICES. Noah had a great run coming 35th overall with a time of 15.38. We also had Monica run at CIS Cross Country. A huge congratulations to Monica, who won gold. Monica is now going onto NSW All Schools.

A huge congratulations to both Monica & Noah!

North West Equestrian Expo

Charlotte, Jaida and Ellie competed at the North west Equestrian Expo at Coonabarabran. The Expo is the largest equestrian interschool event in Australia with 570 riders from over 50 schools, 720 horses and 25 events over the five days. The girls grew in confidence over the weekend and many ‘firsts’ were accomplished. We had some great results this year with an 11th in dressage for Charlotte, a clear X-country and jump round. Jaida had a fabulous run in her sporting events, attempted her first ever 80cm jump round and received a 4th in her hack class. Ellie had an amazing first ever dressage test finishing mid field with a fantastic score of 53%. Everyone had a wonderful weekend, tried new things and made some new friends. Our next competition is Tamworth in October for our whole school team - primary and secondary riders.

Diving & Gymnastic success

Josh Lee has had two massive weeks, competing in CSSA gymnastics and All Schools in diving.

Within gymnastics, Josh competed at Level 6 where he came 1st on floor and bars, 2nd on rings, vault and pommel. Josh then backed it up at All Schools diving where he had another fantastic day finishing 1st in the 15 years Springboard and 1st in the 15-16 years Platform. Josh has been selected to join the NSW team for School Sport Australia Nationals in Brisbane in November. Well done Josh!

Rocky Trail Super Flow MTB competition

Nic (Y9), Rory (Y3), Mr Davis and Mr Westbury recently competed in the MTB Rocky Trails Super Flow. This was an enduro event, where you get timed going downhill only. This was a great day with Rory, Mr Davis and Mr Westbury entering their first MTB competition. Congratulations to Nic, who is only 14 years old and finished 18th in the U17 category, and to Rory who is only 8 years old and competed in the U13 category.

Also, congratulations to Nic who has been accepted into the Hunter Academy of Sport in the MTB Enduro team. This is an excellent achievement.

Karate Tournament

Congratulations to Callum Donaldson who recently entered in the AMAC Karate circuit. Callum competed in 4 events, full contact sparring, points contact, points non-contact and freestyle tap sparring. Combat sports are not easy, it takes a lot of skill and a strong mind set to compete. Congratulations to Callum who after a massive day finished with 1st place and two 2nd places. Well done!
