Upcoming Athletics Carnivals
Our Athletics Carnivals have arrived! One of the biggest events on the school sports calendar, we in the Sports Department always get excited around this time of year. Our carnivals will operate differently this year, as we have grown large enough we will be conducting our carnivals in Primary and Secondary groups. Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 will join the rest of Primary to experience their first “big carnival”. This is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 10th June. The program for the carnival has been attached here. Apologies for the small mistake in the program that was sent out via email, the following program has been updated:
Our Secondary Carnival will be held on Thursday, 11th June giving more time and space for our Secondary Students to complete all their events. We are looking forward to seeing you in your house colours this week for a great couple of days of house competition.
Secondary Boys Futsal
Last week, our Secondary Boys Futsal teams travelled to Maitland to compete in the Northern NSW Futsal Championships. Both teams played great ‘Medowie Ball.’ Even when things were getting a little chippy, our boys focused on their game and didn’t respond. Both teams achieved some great results with our Junior boys missing out on semi finals by 1 goal, however they did defeat the eventual champions in the pool stage. Our Senior boys qualified for their semi finals with some inspired play and came up just short, losing their semi in a penalty shootout. Well done boys.

Student Achievements
It’s been a busy time for sport for our MCS Community. We have had students competing in a number of different competitions and events and we wanted to celebrate just some of them here.
Congratulations to Harry in Year 12 who was recently named North Team captain at the 2026 Regional academies of sport North v South Cup. The North team emerged victorious across the 3 day tournament with some brilliant play from Harry.
Phoenix in Year 12 made some Port Stephens Netball history by being selected to represent Port Stephens at the Netball NSW State Championships in the first ever male team to represent Port Stephens.
Well done to Asher and Ruben who represented HRIS at the AICES cross country this past week. Both of our students ran really well, with Asher finishing 6th in her race to qualify for the AICES team to compete at CIS.
