T4, Week 5



MTB News


In September, brothers Max (Year 9) and Harry (Year 5) kicked off their competitive mountain biking journeys at the Hunter Schools MTB Cross Country Race and Funduro at Awaba Mountain Bike Park. This was their first race, and both boys put in impressive performances, showing a lot of promise for future events!

In October, two of our talented riders from Medowie Christian School had the incredible opportunity to compete at Auscycling National Championships in Western Australia. Nick, from Year 12, took part in the MTB Enduro National Championships in Collie, WA. At just 17 years old, Nick raced in the Under 21 Men’s category, a highly competitive field filled with older, even professional, riders. Despite the tough competition, Nick earned a fantastic 20th place, proving his resilience and skill.

Meanwhile, Luke, from Year 7, competed in the BMX Racing National Championships in Perth, where he shone brightly in the Under 12 category. Luke’s outstanding performance earned him the title of National Champion in both the BMX and Cruiser classes—an incredible achievement for such a young rider!

Closer to home, three of our Year 7 riders—Lachie, Logan, and Luke—headed to Singleton on November 1st for the Hunter Schools MTB team event. This challenging 3-hour relay race saw riders taking turns to complete laps, pushing their endurance and teamwork to the limit. The boys put in some impressive lap times and finished a strong 12th place in the middle of a tough field.
