Stage 2 HRIS Soccer Gala Day
Congratulations to our Stage 2 Boys Soccer Team who represented MCS at the HRIS Junior Boy’s Soccer Gala Day on Thursday. Our team competed against several schools at Central Coast Sport College and they displayed great skill and sportsmanship throughout the whole day. It was great to see all the lunchtime soccer training pay off. Thank you to Mr Parraga and Mrs Urra for training the boys and supporting them on the day.

MTB News
Long overdue news update regarding our school Mountain Bike riders. Over the last few months Lachlan (Yr 7), Finley (Yr 8) and Nick (Yr 11) have been competing in various rounds of the NSW State Gravity Series which alternates between Enduro and Downhill MTB events. The final round of this series will be held in Orange this weekend.
On Friday the 23rd of August, Luke, Lachlan, Logan and Leo raced in the Hunter Schools MTB Funduro race at Dungog. This event involves racing timed runs down multiple trails. All of these riders had a great time at this event building skills and experience in racing. Lachlan had a solid result coming in 9th in under 15 years. Luke also had a great race and grabbed 3rd place in under 15 years.
Luke also backed up on Saturday the 24th for the Velosolutions World Championship Qualifier event at Dungog Pump Track. Luke came first in this event in the Under 13 years category. Luke is having great year in racing having been to the USA in May for the BMX World Championships and is currently leading both the NSW and National BMX series.
Earlier this year, Matilda (Yr8) received an Auscycling Award for her consistent performance in MTB Cross Country racing during 2023 and was named Junior Mountain Biker of the Year in New South Wales.
