T3, Week 7

Primary CIS Athletics

Congratulations to Asher who competed at the Primary CIS Athletics last Friday. She performed brilliantly, winning her heat in the 200m and winning the silver medal for the Long Jump, which qualifies her to compete at the State Finals later in the year.

Primary Girls Soccerball Gala Day

On Thursday our Stage 2 and 3 girls Soccer teams traveled to Central Coast Sports College to participate in the HRIS Soccer Gala Day. The girls had a great day and played hard from the first to the final whistle, learning a lot and growing together as a team. They represented MCS with pride and it was a great experience for them to play against many different schools. A big thank you to Mr Parraga and Mrs Urra for training the girls and to Mrs Hall for also supporting them on the day.

Secondary AICES Athletics

This past Tuesday Steph represented HRIS at the AICES Athletics carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. She performed really well, finishing 4th and 5th in her 2 events. Congratulations Steph.

Secondary Volleyball Gala Day

Our Secondary Volleyball Teams went and played in the HRIS Volleyball Invitational Gala Day at Newcastle Basketball Stadium. All three teams faced stiff competition but had some great success, with our open boys finishing 3rd, our Under 15 girls team, despite this being their first ever time playing volleyball, coming within 2 points of making the grand final to finish third as well. Our open girls team played brilliantly after losing a player early to injury to finish 2nd overall for the day.
