Prepared for purpose

It has been wonderful to welcome our learning community to the new school year, and to hear of some of our students' hopes for the future this week has been encouraging for us as a staff team. Here at MCS we do believe that each young man and woman is designed with a purpose and that it is through knowing and loving Jesus that this purpose will be revealed.

As a Secondary Community this year we have made a slight adjustment to how we care for and get to know our students. For Year 7 - 10 students, they will now have predominantly the same teacher as their Care Group Teacher, who will see your child each day, engage with them at Chapel, teach Invictus and Christian Studies, as well as guide them in times of reflection and celebration throughout the year. Your child’s Care Group Teacher will act as a first point of contact for you and help respond to any questions you might have about your child and their learning here at MCS. We are blessed to have a wonderful team who are dedicated to ensuring your child is Well Known and Well Loved here at MCS.

Uniform reminder

I would like to extend my thanks to our families who have supported the correct approach to the wearing of our Secondary uniform at the start of this year. I am proud to be on team Medowie, and I hope you are too, and one of the ways we all can demonstrate this is through the way we show up to school each day. Not only through our behaviours and attitudes but whether or not we look ready for the day. Please find a copy of our Uniform Policy here at MCS and if you have any questions please get in touch with us.

Assessment Schedules

For the year ahead, we will be sharing our Assessment Schedules in Week 3 to help families see when and where tasks are happening throughout the school year. We are hopeful that this is a helpful planning tool for you and your child to work through at home and a very practical way you can partner with us in supporting your child's education.

Looking forward to another wonderful week in community together!
