T3, Week 6
Interschool CRU
Last week we had an amazing afternoon worshipping and celebrating our love for Jesus with our neighbouring Christian Schools. It was lovely to connect with other young people from Hunter Christian School, St. Philips Cessnock and Maitland Christian School in an afternoon of music, discussion, games and community building.
Congratulations to Ayva and Gabbi who hosted our afternoon, and thank you to other young people who put the time and effort into planning, organising and running an engaging afternoon for all.
Thanks to the CRU team for bringing the message of how we can share the gospel and make disciples.
Thanks to the CRU team for having and sharing their mission of connecting young people together in the name of Jesus.

Wired Cyber Safety Presentation
Wired captured our Secondary students attention on Thursday with a thought provoking and educational drama about cyber bullying. The actors presented scenarios about cyber bullying and its impacts on young people including their mental health. They also addressed ways for teenagers to seek help. Students were encouraged to report incidents of cyber bullying to their parents, teachers and Police (where necessary). In general, students were encouraged to talk more and share things more openly with the adults in their lives.
Following are some comments from our Secondary Students about the effect of the presentation:
“I just have to say thank you for this presentation. I think everyone in that room felt like they are not the only ones going through these situations and just try to talk about it.”
- Kodie
“I really appreciated how it presented mental health struggles as a normal thing and not as "weird" as it can be made out to be. We all have our ups and downs, and being shown that everyone really does is very comforting. We all just have to remember to be kinder to others and ourselves and I think the presentation really displayed that.”
- Stephanie
“I found it really impactful and it really helped me to understand the ways that people can feel without ever showing it. It has inspired me to be more careful with what I say to people and to just be there for people to talk to as I can never know what they are really going through.”
- Zimriy
“I think the Brainstorm presentation ‘Wired’ was thoughtfully created to show the realities of what cyberbullying can look like. It highlighted the way that cyberbullying and social media can affect your mental health and how deep it can take you into depression.”
- Gabbi
