T1, Week 2
Meet the Teacher
Thank you to those families who came out on Tuesday night for the Meet the Teacher Night. It was wonderful to meet such lovely families in our community. Thank you to the staff who also welcomed families and connected with new students.
A warm thank you also to those families who have gone out of their way by saying hello to make me feel welcome in this school community. These welcomes have definitely made me feel as though Medowie Christian School is home.
Uniform
Congratulations to those students who have corrected any uniform issues. We appreciate you getting back into school mode and presenting yourself with pride in wearing our uniform. Further information on Uniform can be found in the Whole School News.
Secondary Reminders: Phones
A reminder that mobile phones are not to be utilised during school hours. There is much research around the distractibility of phones especially when young people are learning new skills. Whilst technology is very useful and a great way to ensure our children’s location and safety, the absence of phone use during school times is essential for us to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students during these hours. Phones should be stored in their school bags upon arrival at school.
Secondary Groups
There are many activities that young people can be involved in during the week ranging from Bible Study, Music, Sport, Leadership, Mountain Biking and Chess. Students can find these groups, times and locations on the Secondary Hub in General Information. If students would like a certain activity to begin they are welcome to see myself or any of our Secondary Student Leaders.
Swimming Carnival
Today we participated in our first Full House for 2024! We gathered together in our house teams to build team spirit in preparation for the upcoming swimming carnival. It will be great to spur each other on, have some laughs and enjoy our time together. For more information see the Sport News and check Sentral Parent Portal for permission notices.
Please feel free to contact your child’s Care Group teacher at any time to help as they are the person that will have contact with your child the most. We are loving to get to know our new Year 7 Secondary students and a surprise will be coming their way soon!
