Welcome to Secondary!

This week we welcomed our new Year 7, 2023, MCS students to share a day in Secondary as a part of their Immersion into High School. It was a wonderful experience for all involved as they experienced time in our Technology, Science, Music, Maths and Sports spaces. Students had an opportunity to have a look at and read through a Secondary timetable, receive their new School Caps, meet and connect with our Year 10 Learners for their Invictus Long Lunch, followed by some games together.

It was a successful day in building community and sharing with our students a little more of what Secondary is like. We are blessed to be welcoming these young men and women into our community in the new year!

Year 8 and 9 Subject Selections

Our Year 8 and 9 students received their subject selection forms this week for elective courses to study in 2023. Students have the opportunity to select 2 elective courses and at least 2 reserve choices. These elective forms, which have been emailed to students, are due to be returned to us by Friday 4th November to assist in forming subject offerings for Year 9 and 10 learners in the new year.

In addition to this, all Stage 5 families should have received the Curriculum Booklet that includes both the courses and elective options studied here at MCS. This may be a helpful tool for families to use when discussing possible elective choices.
