Prep and Kindergarten Assessments
Prep and Kindergarten assessments will take place on Friday, 27th and Monday, 30th January. Families should now have booked a time slot for their child’s assessment. Please come to the front office to sign in on your arrival and then head to either the Prep or Kindergarten classes for your child’s assessment.
First Day of Kindergarten and Prep Procedures
Kindergarten and the M/T/W Prep classes begin the school year on Tuesday, 31st January. Please walk your child to either the Prep or Kindergarten classrooms between 8:50 and 9am. The teachers will be there to greet your child and help settle them quickly into a morning routine. Children respond differently to their first day of school. Some are excited and can’t wait to begin all the activities in the classroom while others are more apprehensive. The best approach to helping your child to settle is to give them a kiss goodbye and leave promptly allowing the teacher to comfort and settle them. If you are concerned about how your child has settled please feel free to contact the school office throughout the day.
At the end of the day, the Kindergarten teachers will walk the students to the front gate to be collected by parents at 3pm. Parents of Prep students are asked to collect their children from the Prep classroom at 3:00pm.
The first day of school for the Th/Fri Prep Class is Thursday, 2nd February. We ask parents to follow the same drop off and pick up routine as the M/T/W Prep class.
Meet The Teacher Afternoon
An opportunity exists for all parents to meet their child’s teacher and receive information about class routines and the learning that will take place in your child’s class this year. Our Meet The Teacher Afternoon will take place on Thursday, 2nd February in your child’s classroom. Information sessions will take place from 3:30 - 5pm and will be timetabled for 20 minute sessions so that families with children in several classes can attend each session. More information will follow when school begins.
Summer Uniform

We remind families that students are required to return to school in full Summer Uniform. Our Uniform policy can be found here. Please ensure that your child brings their MCS broad brim hat to school each day to have adequate sun protection when outside of the classroom.
We look forward to an exciting year of learning with you and your children during 2023.
Your Sincerely,

Mrs Tiia Wright Baker
Head of Primary
