T2, Week 7

Stage 2 Tocal Excursion

Last Friday Stage 2 enjoyed a wonderful day at Tocal Homestead. As part of their Integrated Unit, they dressed as early colonial settlers and enjoyed learning experiences that exposed them to life in the early colony. A great time was had by all and the students who particularly enjoyed their lesson in the old school house with a very strict school mistress.

K-2 Infants Athletics Carnival

A fantastic day was had by all of our Infants students at the Prep - Year 2 Athletics Carnival on Wednesday. It was so exciting to see our students use the physical gifts that God has given them to bring glory to His name by competing in running races and field activities. The highlight of the day was the Tug OWar where there was some fierce competition between the students, parents and teachers! A big thank you goes to Mr Allen for organising the day and to Mr Hallet and the Stage 5 Sport Science class who ran the field activities.

Rwanda Red Frog Guessing Game

As part of our fundraising to support Ms Pietsch’s mission trip to Rwanda our Student Leaders will run a Red Frog Guessing Competition next week in the COLA. For the cost of 50c students are invited to guess how many Red Frogs are in a jar. The winner of the competition will be announced at our Week 8 Primary Assembly and they will take home the jar full of Red Frogs.

Primary Assembly and Chapel

With the conclusion of the musical we have returned to our usual cycle of Primary Chapel being held on Friday on odd weeks of the term and Primary Assembly being held on even weeks of the term. Primary Awards will be presented at Assembly to students who have performed in an outstanding way academically or have been serving the MCS Community, and classes will take it in turns to share some of the excellent work they have been doing in class with the rest of the school community. Parents are warmly invited to both Chapel and Assembly which will be held in The Lighthouse beginning at 2:15pm.
