We have had a great week in Primary and it's been wonderful to see all of our students continuing to engage in their lessons and activities, whether it is our K-2 Learn to Swim program, our Stage 3 Science incursion or continuing lessons in class. In this week's Primary news read all about
our Prep graduations,
Stage 3's STEM Spectacular,
all the details for our Year 6 graduation,
and all the important information for our Primary Celebration Day and Secret Santa.
Prep Graduation
It was lovely to see our Prep classes graduate over the last two weeks amidst the applause of their parents and teachers. We are so proud of each one of them for the way they have learned and grown this year and for the people they are becoming, ready to face the challenges of ‘Big School’. Thank you to Mrs Herd and Mrs Dew for everything they have sown into these young learners. We wish them all of God’s blessings and look forward to seeing them in Kindergarten in 2023.
Stage 3 STEM Spectacular
Stage 3 had an amazing time engaging with lots of ‘hands on’ Science learning experiences on Wednesday as they joined workshops run by Jacob Strickling from Tiny Science Lab. It was so exciting to watch our students work collaboratively with a partner and test the solubility of salt and sugar. I am excited to see how this experience has sparked an interest in Science amongst all our students and look forward to seeing them engage with the world around them with curiosity.
Year 6 Graduation
It is hard to believe that our Year 6 students are reaching the end of their journey through Primary School and will soon be moving into Secondary. They have grown so much in their time with us and, as a school, we are planning a special graduation day for them to celebrate their achievements and wish them all of God's blessings as they move into Secondary School. This special day will take place on Thursday, 1st December and the program for the day is as follows:
9:30 - 10:30am - Graduation Service with Parents in the MPC
10:30 - 11:30am - Year 6 Celebration Morning Tea with parents in the Staff Room and artificial grass area
11:30am - 12pm - Students walk with teachers to the Medowie Social Club
12:00 - 12:45pm - Year 6 Celebration Lunch at Medowie Social Club (Year 6 students and teachers attending)
12:45 - 2:30pm - Year 6 Barefoot Bowling Tournament
2:30 - 3:10pm - Year 6 Students walk back to school with teachers in time for afternoon buses.
What To Wear - Students are required to wear full school summer uniform for the graduation service. Following the morning tea with parents they are able to change into neat casual clothes that will enable them to play barefoot bowls. T-shirts should cover shoulders, shorts should be mid length and they must have a hat. Sunscreen should also be brought to school and applied before bowling.
2022 Primary Celebration Day Wednesday, 7th December
What a wonderful year it has been! As a celebration of the children's learning and growth this year as well as the birth of Christ the Primary Department will hold a fun day for all the Primary students. There will be lots of exciting activities throughout the day:

each class will spend some time enjoying play on jumping castles
Stage 1, 2 and 3 will be involved in water activities on the oval
lunch will be as normal for the day and
in the afternoon the students will exchange 'Secret Santa' gifts and enjoy a Christmas movie together.

Each student should have received their Secret Santa information by now. If you haven't, please speak to their class teacher. For Secret Santa each child will be asked to purchase a small treat and drink for their Secret Santa. This treat and drink will become the end of year class party and the students will enjoy these while watching their movie.
We ask that students do not bring any additional party food or gifts for other children to school. We do however, encourage students to exchange Christmas cards with their friends.
I wish all our families a restful weekend.

Regards,
Mrs T. Wright Baker
Head of Primary
