  • catch up on the first week of our K-2 Learn to Swim program,

  • read about our 2022 Primary Celebration Day plus important information about this year's Secret Santa, and

Year 6 Graduation Thursday, 1st December

It is hard to believe that our Year 6 students are reaching the end of their journey through Primary School and will soon be moving into Secondary. They have grown so much in their time with us and, as a school, we are planning a special graduation day for them to celebrate their achievements and wish them all of God's blessings as they move into Secondary School.

This special day will take place on Thursday, 1st December and the program for the day is as follows:

  • 9:30am - 10:30am - Graduation Service with parents in the MPC

  • 10:30am - 11:30am - Year 6 Celebration Morning Tea with parents in the Staff Room and artificial grass area

  • 11:30am - 12pm - Students walk with teachers to the Medowie Social Club

  • 12:00pm - 12:45pm - Year 6 Celebration Lunch at Medowie Social Club (Year 6 students and teachers attending)

  • 12:45pm - 2:30pm - Year 6 Barefoot Bowling Tournament

  • 2:30pm - 3:10pm - Year 6 Students walk back to school with teachers in time for afternoon buses.

What To Wear - Students are required to wear full school summer uniform for the graduation service. Following the morning tea with parents they are able to change into neat casual clothes that will enable them to play barefoot bowls. T-shirts should cover shoulders, shorts should be mid length and they must have a hat. Sunscreen should also be brought to school and applied before bowling.

We look forward to celebrating with you all!

K- 2 Learn To Swim

Our K - 2 students have had an exciting week developing their swimming skills at our K-2 Learn To Swim School. It has been lovely to see our students who are strong swimmers shine as they demonstrate the gifts that God has given them. It has also been wonderful to see our students persevere when they are challenged and develop a growth mindset. K-2 Swim School will continue in Week 7 and conclude on Tuesday, 29th November.

2022 Primary Celebration (Fun) Day Wednesday, 7th December

What a wonderful year it has been! As a celebration of the children's learning and growth this year as well as the birth of Christ, the Primary Department will hold a fun day for all the Primary students.

There will be lots of exciting activities throughout the day:

  • each class will spend time playing on jumping castles

  • Stage 1, 2 and 3 will enjoy water activities on the oval

  • lunch will be as normal for the day and

  • in the afternoon the students will exchange 'Secret Santa' gifts and enjoy a Christmas movie together.

Secret Santa Details:

ree

Secret Santa will be organised by class teachers and each child will be asked to purchase a small treat and drink for their Secret Santa. This treat and drink will become the end of year class party and the students will enjoy these while watching their movie. Additional information about the Secret Santa process will be sent to families soon.

We ask that students do not bring any additional party food or gifts for other children to school. We do, however, encourage students to exchange Christmas cards with their friends.

Bikes

ree

If possible, we would appreciate it if bikes that are stored at school could be taken home by the end of Week 8, Friday, 2nd December. Students or parents can see Mr Parraga, Mr Westbury or Mr Davis to collect their bike from our secure bike shed each day before school commences or during break times.

I wish all our families a restful weekend.

Regards,

Mrs T. Wright Baker
