T1, Week 7
Primary Awards
Congratulations to all our students who received Primary Awards at our Week 6 Primary Assembly. These awards are presented to students who have served our Primary community by living out the C.H.R.I.S.T values, have achieved outstanding academic success or have made great improvement in an area of their school work. If a student is absent on a day when the awards are presented their award will be carried over into the next Primary Assembly.

NAPLAN
Congratulations to all our Year 3 and 5 students who have spent this week keenly participating in NAPLAN. It has been great to see our students focused and determined to do their best as they have faced the learning challenges each day. We look forward to seeing their achievements when the results are issued later in the year.

Cross Country / Wellbeing Wednesday
Our Annual Cross Country Carnival will take place on Wednesday, 25th March at MCS. Wear your House colours or your MCS Sport Uniform (Zinc is encouraged) and don't forget to bring your MCS broadbrim hat, food for the day, water bottle and sunscreen.
Prep, Kindergarten and Year 1 will participate in a Cross Country Obstacle Course race beginning in The Lighthouse at 9:30am. They will then return to their normal classes following this session. Parents are warmly invited to spectate at this event.
Year 2 - Year 6 will participate in Cross Country races along the Mountain Bike track and around the school. At the conclusion of the Cross Country students will move to Break 2 and will then spend the afternoon enjoying Wellbeing learning experiences in their classes with their teachers. Parents are warmly invited to watch their children compete at vantage points around the track.
The timetable for these events and further information on the Cross Country Carnival can be found in this week's Sport News. We look forward to seeing our students shine on the day.
Reading
In our Primary Department we love reading and wish to encourage our students to read for enjoyment at every opportunity. This includes a reading time for a short period after entering the classroom following breaks. This practice assists our students to calm their nervous system and regulate their brain and body in order to prepare them for learning. This is best achieved with a paper book in order to avoid digital distractions. We encourage all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 to bring a paper book to school with them each day for them to engage with during these opportunities.
