Week 5 has been very busy in our Primary Department. We began the week with Mr Allen challenging us to make Christ our rock and he helped us remember this life lesson by sharing some beautiful rocks with us. He also taught us our memory verse for the fortnight which is the second verse of our year’s theme.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Philippians 4: 5

Primary Leaders

Not only did our Primary Leaders attend the Student Leaders Morning Tea with Kate Washington MP on Monday, but this week they also had the opportunity to act as hosts at the MCS Principal’s Tour yesterday. I am excited to see the enthusiasm that our 2023 student leaders demonstrate and their willingness to step into leadership roles.

Our Primary Leaders were honoured with the presentation of certificates from Kate Washington and these will be presented to them at our Primary Lines gathering on Monday at 8:50am. Their parents are warmly invited to join us for this presentation.

Excellent Student Work

As I visited Primary classrooms this week it was exciting to see the amazing learning that was taking place in Prep. Our very clever Prep students were collecting data about their siblings and then graphing this data by threading coloured pasta onto string. They were also busy making houses to represent their families. It is so encouraging to hear how well our Prep students have settled into school life and we especially thank Mrs Inwood and Mrs Dew for the wonderful work they are doing to help adjust to school life.

Prep Announcements

Our Prep teachers are keen to hear from any families who have second hand Lego or Duplo that they would be prepared to donate to the Prep program. They are particularly interested in the Princess variety that is suitable for children up to 4 years+. If you would like to make a Lego or Duplo donation please email Mrs Brooke Inwood.

In order for us to ensure that your Prep child is safe and well cared for we ask that Prep children be delivered to the Prep room at 8:45am and picked up from the same location at 3:00pm.

I wish all our families a restful weekend.

Regards,

ree
