We wish all our Primary families a warm welcome to Term 4! It was lovely to see our students smiling as they arrived on Monday and they looked so smart in their Summer uniform.
During Term 4 we will be focusing on casting our worries on God and walking forwards with confidence that He will take care of us.
To help equip and empower our students with this, they will learn Psalm 23 and explore different ways that we can apply the treasure in this Psalm to our lives. This fortnight the students are memorising Psalm 23:1-3:
‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.'
Excellent Work in 3H

As I wandered through the Primary school this week I was delighted to see some amazing design work that had been produced in 3H. Taylah, Maisie, Micah and Diya were presented with the challenge to design a rocket ship that could fly to the moon in 2025. Each student worked as a committed group member with Taylah creating the rocket, Maisie building the launch tower, Micah constructing a globe of the world and Diyah building the moon.
When reflecting on their learning, the students reported that it is more challenging to construct a model than they previously thought, and you need to plan and manage your time well. Working together as a group is more effective than working on your own because you can share ideas and problem solve together. They are looking forward to engaging in more collaborative group challenges in the future.
Book Week
We are all very excited to celebrate Book Week next week! There are three very exciting events taking place as part of Book Week: our Book Fair, Book Parade and Author Visit and Workshop. Summer Uniform Reminders

Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support of our uniform policy. We see uniform as an important aspect of school culture that helps our students prepare their minds to focus on academic work. It also helps promote equity amongst students and personal pride in their identity as part of the broader school community. In order to protect our children’s skin from the sun we ask that all students wear a broad brim school hat whenever they are outside of the classroom. We also request that students follow the guidelines in our uniform policy that refer to jewellery. All students may wear a watch; girls may wear one small pair of either plain sleeper or stud earrings (with one birthstone only) and one signet ring. Visible bracelets other than for medical reasons and necklaces are not permitted. Please review our Uniform Policy if you have any questions.
Student Supervision After School
I love walking along the verandahs of our Primary School after 3:10pm. There is such a positive buzz in the air with students excited to go home and parents picking up their children and connecting with other parents. As it is always our desire to keep our families safe we encourage parents to be vigilant with the supervision of your children once you have collected them. If they choose to play in the sand area next to the old Science building please encourage them to respect the creations of other children and play around them rather than knock them down. This way all our children can experience the joy of creating with sand and learn from the handiwork of others.
I wish all our families a restful weekend.

Regards,
Mrs T. Wright Baker
(Head of Primary)
