Congratulations to Matilda Davis who recently entered the CYA Writers and Illustrators competition. The competition is judged by former winners, editors and both published and unpublished authors. Matilda came 9th in her category of Hatchling Author for Chapter Books/Young Adults for her book titled 'Captain Ingrid and the Plant Poison'. Well done Matilda!

We are pleased to announce that Book Week will be held in week 2 of term 4. The theme of this year’s Book Week is Dreaming With Eyes Open. We are very excited to hold our first Book Week since 2019. The week will be filled with activities and challenges designed to instil your child with an excitement for reading and storytelling.

Book Week Parade - Friday 21 October

On Friday 21st of October, we will have our costume parade from 9.30am - 10.30am. Primary students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character and parents are welcome to watch the procession.

We love the creativity and passion of our students, but will ask you to keep a couple things in mind when coming up with a costume. Book Week is a celebration of books, not movies or television. We would like children to carry a copy of the book they took inspiration from during the parade.

Our costume parade is an expression of our love of literature and is not a competition. There will be no prizes awarded for the dress-up parade.

When choosing a costume please select one which is age appropriate, community appropriate and theme appropriate. The normal rules of out-of-uniform days apply.

Children are encouraged to pick a beloved book from the school library. If you are unsure about a costume or if you have any further questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.
