Book Week

Book Week is coming! Book Week will be held this term from the 21st to the 25th of August (Week 5). It was wonderful to celebrate Book Week last year after such a long break and we are excited to bring it back again this year. The theme of this year’s Book Week is Read, Grow, Inspire. The week will be filled with activities and challenges designed to instil your child with an excitement for reading and storytelling.

On Friday 25th of August, we will have our costume parade from 9.30 - 10.30am. Primary students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character and parents are welcome to watch the procession.

We love the creativity and passion of our students, but will ask you to keep a couple things in mind when coming up with a costume. Book Week is a celebration of books, not movies or television. We would like children to carry a copy of the book they took inspiration from during the parade.

Our costume parade is an expression of our love of literature and is not a competition. There will be no prizes awarded for the dress-up parade. When choosing a costume please select one which is age appropriate, community appropriate and theme appropriate. The normal rules for out-of-uniform days apply. Children are encouraged to pick a beloved book from the school library.

If you are unsure about a costume or if you have any further questions, please contact your child’s class teacher. Any student who does not wish to dress-up may come to school in their regular uniform.

Kind regards,

ree
